Introduction
TextGuard positions itself as an all-in-one AI writing platform offering an AI Humanizer, AI Detector, Plagiarism Checker, Summarizer, and Paraphraser. On its website, it promises “100% unique text” powered by “advanced AI features,” implying it can transform AI-generated content into undetectable, human-like writing.
With no free plan and most features behind a paywall, we wanted to see whether the price is backed by strong performance.
Pricing
TextGuard has no free plan or free trial, so there’s no way to preview how the product performs before paying.
| Plan | Duration | Price | Discount (claimed) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2-Week Plan | 14 days | $9.99 | ~50% off (listed as $19.99) |
| 4-Week Plan | 28 days | $14.99 | ~50% off (listed as $29.99) |
| 12-Week Plan | 84 days | $29.99 | ~50% off (listed as $59.99) |
The website shows a countdown timer next to the discount, but the prices stayed the same each time we checked.
At about $15 per month, TextGuard is among the more expensive AI humanizer tools on the market, and unlike many alternatives, it doesn’t let you try it first.
What TextGuard Claims to Do
TextGuard’s pricing page claims that users will:
Get 100% unique text with our advanced AI features.
and lists its capabilities as:
- ✅ Plagiarism Checker
- ✅ AI Detector
- ✅ AI Humanizer
- ✅ Summarizer
- ✅ Paraphraser
We put those claims to the test.
The AI Humanizer
The AI Humanizer is presented as TextGuard’s main and most heavily marketed product. For $9.99 every two weeks, we expected solid output, but the results were disappointing.
When we input AI-generated text from ChatGPT, TextGuard’s humanized output was one of the weakest we’ve tested. In several places, the rewrite made the text harder to read.
We then tested the “humanized” text across major AI detectors. Here are the results:
| Detector | Result |
|---|---|
| GPTZero | ❌ 100% AI |
| ZeroGPT | ❌ 100% AI |
| Turnitin | ❌ 100% AI |
| Originality | ❌ 100% AI |
| Copyleaks | ❌ 100% AI |
| Quillbot | ❌ 100% AI |
| Verva | ❌ 100% AI |
Across every AI detector we tested, the humanized text was still flagged as 100% AI.
The AI Detector
We also tested TextGuard’s detector using both AI-generated and human-written samples. The results were inconsistent.
Example test results:
- Human-written text: 87% AI, then 89% AI on incognito
- AI-generated text: 83% AI, then 87% AI on incognito
Human and AI text received nearly identical scores, and each run gave a different number. In our tests, the detector couldn’t reliably tell human writing from AI writing.
User Interface and Experience
The UI looks clean and simple, but if you’re not a paying user, nearly everything sits behind a paywall. It’s hard to understand what you’re getting before you buy.
Trustpilot Reviews
TextGuard has a 4.5-star Trustpilot rating. The one-star reviews describe experiences that closely match what we found in our testing.
Here are two examples:
Syed said:
If I could I could rate it zero. The worst expenditure I ever made. Unworthy price of shizzle knuckles.
Common said:
TextGuard uses deceptive marketing practices. Buyer beware. Having searched for another company my professor told me to register with for his class, TextGuard popped up and pretended to be that company. It was only after I signed up and paid a fee that I realized I had been duped. It wasn't the company my professor instructed me to register with for the class. Although TextGuard states that it offers a guarantee, it doesn't honor it, which is another deceptive practice.
TextGuard’s official response to Common’s review:
Thank you for sharing your concerns — I’m sorry for the frustration. We do not impersonate other companies. Our brand name and domain are clearly shown on our website, checkout pages, and confirmation emails. Pricing, plan details, and terms are presented during checkout and in the post-purchase email. We couldn’t locate a support ticket associated with the name shown on your review, and no email was provided.
Search Ads Using Other Brands' Names
TextGuard runs Google search ads that use other AI humanizers' brand names and trademarks in the ad itself. When you search for "Clever AI Humanizer," for example, the top sponsored result is a TextGuard ad with the headline "Clever ai humanizer" that links to textguard.ai.

TextGuard has run the same kind of ads using other AI brand names. Since the ad shows another brand's name as its headline, users searching for a specific tool can end up on TextGuard's site without realizing it. That lines up with the user review above.
Scorecard
| Feature | Score | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| AI Humanizer | ☆☆☆☆☆ (0/5) | Failed every detector we tested. |
| AI Detector | ☆☆☆☆☆ (0/5) | Inconsistent results on human and AI text. |
| UI & UX | ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5) | Decent layout but mostly locked behind paywalls. |
| Pricing | ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5) | Expensive and no free plan. |
Overall Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5)
Final Verdict
TextGuard offers a wide set of tools, but in our testing, the two main ones fell short. The AI humanizer didn’t get past any detector we tried, and the AI detector gave nearly the same scores to human and AI text.
Combined with the lack of a free plan or trial, it’s hard to recommend TextGuard for students or professionals who need reliable results.
Conclusion
TextGuard didn’t live up to its claims in our tests.
- ❌ Humanized text still flagged as 100% AI
- ❌ Inconsistent AI detector
- ❌ No free plan or trial
